science, frontpage, engineering, arts and math. those are the key skill sets. and i had a chance to meet with all of our san francisco chancellor and is i see chancellor here today from -- state and he joined me with chancellor helm man from uc s f city college our own public schools superintendentent to form a major education leadership counsel to advise me in making sure that the skill sets that we need in the jobs in the future are being trained and reflected in the education curriculum and how to support not only the institutions, but all of the different programs that we can use to lift up all of the educational stands for our youth i have person learn adopted 12 middle schools in san francisco to make sure each principal gets what they need to campus to support teachers effort on campus to raise the educational needs of the schools. middle school is the biggest challenge with truancy and educational challenges and we know that while we are increasing the performance stand of the whole cities one of the highest increases in the whole state is happening her

i can assure you that the forensic sciences, the nond.n.a. stuff is not brain science. it doesn't take a kent to look at the scientific methods underlying a lot of the forensic techniques and say that it's mostly junk. i do think your point is well taken that when you get to genetics and you get to neuroscience and get to some of the more complex science, i quite frankly think that law schools need to step up. lawyers and judges need to step up to do a better job of understanding it and that's one of the thing kent does. he goes around lecturing judges on the methodology underlying his neuroscience. >> just one note about -- a lot of the sciences that you mention are sciences that were developed not through order scientific method of driver, but -- discovery but were directed by the criminal justice system, the forensic sciences didn't happen from scientists following hypothesis-driven scientific methods and following the scientific methods. neuroscience and d.n.a. are different that way. interestingly, there is a lot of neuroscience collaborations that are happening wi

i remember being accused early on by a science teacher and told i was using lsd and i didn't know what it was at the time. i was in the class for three months and didn't work english and the teacher didn't realize i didn't speak english and there was only 20 in the classroom and bullying can take different shapes and not paying attention and caring and while we're focusing on what kids are doing to each other, we must not ignore that sometimes adults can be part of the problem just by their behavior, even by the way they look the other way. i agree with richard 100% that we need to deal with this but zero tolerance has to be articulated in a very different way. 36% of kids that are bullied everyday report not coming to school. there is another piece that is important. as a member of the justice center we did intensive study of school discipline last year and looked at a million roashds and 60% that are disciplined incredibly more likely to drop out of school and end up in the criminal justice system and while we are working with the victims and educating we are working with all of the
